Darwin’s Lord Mayor Kon Vatskalis has slammed the ABC’s Four Corners report on private security in the CBD saying it was one-sided and focused only on the negatives.

He told Katie Woolf the Council would not continue to invest in security guards in the CBD if they weren’t delivering positive results.

Lord Mayor Vatskalis says security guards are making people feel safer and act as a deterrent for anti-social behaviour adding that he’d support the roll out of OC spray to security guards with training and guidelines in place.
