Estimates shut down as Education Minister gets frustrated with questions about crime at schools

Member for Katherine Jo Hersey says attempts by the CLP to find out the payout figure of former Police Commissioner Jamie Chalker have been unsuccessful in budget estimates.

She told Katie Woolf the Opposition did reveal that 28 teachers have been injured in government schools this year, with eight incidents involving edged weapons between January and April.

Ms Hersey says the Education Minister called her pathetic for asking questions about the impact of crime on government schools and her frustration caused estimates to be shut down for a short time.
