Federal MP in talks with ALDI to try and get a store in Darwin or Palmerston
Member for Solomon Luke Gosling says he’s had several conversations and email exchanges with ALDI about the possibility of it opening a store in Darwin or Palmerston.
He told Katie Woolf he’s not buying ALDI’s holding line – that it has no plans to open stores in the NT, after it opened a store in Mackay, a regional Queensland town, about six weeks ago.
Mr Gosling says Territory families would save about $20 on an average basket of goods at ALDI compared to the major supermarkets.
