First cohort of G4S staff start work at Darwin Court, costing $1.3 million over first six months

Deputy Chief Minister Gerard Maley says the government will rely on a mix of gas and renewables to deliver secure and affordable power to Territorians after scrapping the 50 per cent by 2030 target, which would have cost $5 billion to achieve.
He told Katie Woolf a 3 per cent cap on retail electricity prices will be reviewed each year and he hopes prices start to decrease as more gas comes online.
Mr Maley says the first cohort of G4S staff have started working at Darwin Local Court, supporting correctional officers, which will cost $1.3 million over the first six months.
The Corrections Minister also said some prison programs have resumed, with more than 120 pensioners having their lawns mowed by inmates over the last few weeks.
