Equipping transit safety officers with capsicum spray is just “cheap policing” according to the NT Police Association.

President Nathan Finn told Katie Woolf OC spray should only be used by highly-trained police officers saying giving it to security guards is creating a false sense of safety for the community.

Mr Finn says the NT Government won’t admit the Police Force is in the grip of a staffing crisis.
