Domain’s Chief of Research Dr Nicola Powell says house rents in Darwin have held steady in the June quarter but are at a record high – on average $650 a week.

But she told Katie Woolf unit rents are dropping, currently sitting at an average $515 a week.

Dr Powell says Darwin is the third most expensive capital city to rent a house in, behind Canberra and Sydney where rents are $700 a week.
