Independent MLA criticises NT ICAC over Michael Gunner’s remote visits during 2020 election

Member for Araluen Robyn Lambley has taken aim at the NT ICAC after it made no findings against former Chief Minister Michael Gunner having outlined in its report that he went to remote communities during polling for the 2020 election using taxpayers funds.

She told Katie Woolf it brings into question why the NT even has an ICAC, claiming it has failed to provide good governance to the Territory.

Ms Lambley says the recommendations made by the ICAC could be legislated by the next government to prevent something like this from happening again but at the end of the day it’s an integrity issue.
