Independent takes aim at NTG over scrapping funding for environment groups and says lobbyist register doesn’t go far enough

Independent Member for Johnston Justine Davis says she’s still seeking answers from the NT Government on the roll out of the $180 million earmarked to tackle domestic violence, with news this morning that a man has been charged with murdering his partner with Alice Springs.

She told Katie Woolf the CLP’s lobbyist register doesn’t go far enough and is calling for Minister’s diaries to be published, adding that a motion on the matter is listed for debate this afternoon.

Ms Davis has also criticised the government’s move to scrap funding for the Environment Centre NT and Air Lands Environment Centre, saying they’ve existed for decades, providing advice on areas that Territorians may otherwise have not known about.
