Transport Workers Union NT organiser Barry Norton says there are thousands of incidents occurring on public buses and likened it to a war zone.

He told Katie Woolf a man indecently exposed himself to a child and a large group assaulted a driver in the last week.

Mr Norton says while transit safety officers are helping to protect drivers and passengers , the NT Government needs to do more.
