Samara Laverty says justice has been served for her son Declan Laverty who was murdered by Keith Kerinauia moments before the end of his shift at Darwin Airport Tavern BWS in March last year.

She told Katie Woolf of the agonising pain to watch the events unfold on CCTV footage during the eight-day Supreme Court trial and is relieved it’s now over.

Ms Laverty says Declan was targeted doing his job, refusing someone entry based on the company’s “no shoes, no entry” policy.

She hopes he will be remembered as a funny, loving, kind-hearted young man who loved animals.
