Labor claims regional and remote schools in the NT are having to fund free swimming lessons and transport out of school budgets

Opposition Leader Selena Uibo claims the CLP is being sneaky with amendments to the Aboriginal Sacred Sites Act and hasn’t outlined what the proposed changes are.

She told Katie Woolf, Land Councils and the Aboriginal Areas Protection Authority have also been kept in the dark about the government’s plans.

Ms Uibo claims regional and remote schools are having to fund transport costs and free swimming lessons out of school budgets, adding she’ll continue to push for answers from the Minister.

The Labor leader is also hoping the Federal budget will deliver funding for the Territory’s health system, to tackle domestic violence and major roads upgrades.
