Labor Opposition drafts voluntary assisted dying legislation and hopes for bipartisan approach to get laws introduced by the end of the year

Labor Opposition Leader Selena Uibo says she has drafted legislation on voluntary assisted dying, which she committed to doing in May and plans to introduce the private members bill to parliament this week, hoping it will be a basis for the government.

She told Katie Woolf she supports Territorians having the right to choose how they end their lives.

Asked about the Chief Minister’s decision to not reveal internal documents on the use of the government white car service, Ms Uibo was critical of the move, saying sharing the rules would provide certainty to Territorians and ensure accountability and transparency.
