Labor promises to provide free land to a new supermarket chain to drive down grocery prices

NT Chief Minister Eva Lawler says Labor’s thinking outside of the box to stimulate competition and drive down grocery prices by offering free land to a new supermarket chain if re-elected this weekend.

She told Katie Woolf the hope is Aldi or Costco would expand into the NT, pointing to Crown Land in Holtze, Kowandi or Wishart and has promised to action it within 100 days.

In response to the CLP’s proposal of Declan’s Law, Ms Lawler says Labor has no plans to change bail laws with residential youth justice facilities, housing and education investment key in preventing serious crime.
