Labor reveals it wasn’t aware methane gas had been leaking at Santos’ Darwin LNG facility for almost 20 years – only learning about it last week

Opposition Leader Selena Uibo says Labor will be keeping a close eye on any misuse of OC spray with the trial now underway and are calling for a fact sheet to clear up concerns around duty of care, liability and potential consequences.
Regarding changes to the NT’s anti-discrimination legislation being put on hold, Mr Uibo says the CLP dropped the ball on consulting with key stakeholders and have underestimated the impact on community groups, organizations and the faith-based sector.
Ms Uibo also told Katie Woolf a methane gas leak at Santos’ LNG facility in Darwin wasn’t raised when she was in government, saying it was first brought to her attention last week and she’s calling for answers.
