Opposition Leader Selina Uibo has welcomed the CLP’s Corrections plan but doesn’t want to see young offenders from Alice Springs moved to Darwin’s new youth corrections centre.

She told Katie Woolf there also needs to be alternatives to custody to address the root causes of crime and offending.

Ms Uibo says Labor plans to move a matter of public importance on domestic violence in NT parliament this week, pushing for bipartisan support to address the issue.
