Local Indigenous leaders outline their Yes and No case for the Indigenous Voice to Parliament

Larrakia Elder and Darwin Waterfront Corporation chairman Richard Fejo says an Indigenous Voice to Parliament would create  change for Aboriginal people on things like health and housing.

Mr Fejo told Katie Woolf the current system isn’t working so a different approach is needed to deliver better outcomes for Indigenous Australians.

But Gwalwa Daraniki Association chairperson and Larrakia Traditional Owner Helen Secretary doubts the Voice will make any difference when we’ve already got elected representatives who are Indigenous.

Ms Secretary says there are also adequate supports and services in place for Aboriginal people.
