Manhunt and search continues for 5 year old Sharon Granites

NT Police has thanked the Alice springs community for its support and assistance in the search for 5 year old Sharon Granites.  

It’s been 3 days since Sharon was last seen when she was put to bed at her home in the Old Timers Camp, sparking an extensive search by police, emergency services, the Tangentyere council, NORFORCE as well as dozens of volunteers.  

Temperatures overnight dropped down to 8 degrees, with a search area of 20 square kilometres established with ground teams made up of around 60 people, with authorities also using helicopters, drones, the dog and horse units, motorcycles, ATVs. 

Police have said they believe Sharon has been abducted – and a manhunt is underway for 47 year old Jefferson Lewis who has yet to be accounted for and was staying at the residence.  

Sharon was last seen wearing a dark blue short sleeve t-shirt with a white ring stripe around the neck and cuffs and a pair of black boxer style underwear – anyone with information – no matter how small – is urged to contact triple zero.
