Martin Dole says he’s not currently considering bidding for the top job, focusing on supporting officers after a ‘tumultuous decade’ of policing

Acting Police Commissioner Martin Dole says he welcomes the independent inquiry into senior police recruitments, which impacts 28 positions, saying the books are open for scrutiny by Acting Justice Alan Blow AO.
He told Katie Woolf despite a tumultuous decade of policing, officers continue to show up every day to protect the community and hold offenders accountable, adding at the moment he has not given thought to putting his hand up for the top job.
Acting Police Commissioner Dole says officers dealing with youth offenders on a daily basis are providing feedback on a review of the Youth Justice Act which is currently underway.
He also said there will be an increased police presence on Territory roads as we head into three long weekends, with officers cracking down on the fatal five after 60 lives were lost last year.
