Minister for Defence Industries Pat Conroy says the Federal Government is investing $14 to $18 billion in Australia’s northern bases over the next decade strengthening the ADF and creating jobs.

He told Katie Woolf $1.6 billion will go towards airfield improvements at RAAF Base Tindal to enhance air refuelling, with $750 million for US-NT training ranges and $390 million for improvements at Robertson Barracks.

Mr Conroy says the NT’s defence workforce is also set to grow by about 1,000 personnel over the next few years, reflecting the Territory’s strategic position.
