MLA says Alice Springs is still in the grip of a crime crisis after a community leader was bashed in the head with a scooter, severing an artery

Member for Araluen Robyn Lambley says she was sad to learn a much-loved and respected Territorian ended up with a severed artery after being hit in the head with a scooter while trying to stop youth from stealing from a business in Alice Springs.
She told Katie Woolf residents were cautiously optimistic that things were starting to improve but Ms Lambley says this assault and another against a Danish tourist are setbacks, with the town still facing a crime crisis.
Ms Lambley says crime is an ongoing battle for tourism operators, but is reassuring visitors if they are careful, aware of their surroundings and look after their belongings they should be fine.
