Police Minister Brent Potter says boosting police numbers is all he can do right now to curb crime after a spate of attempted carjackings in Darwin.

He told Katie Woolf he is re-establishing the multicultural advisory committee that sits with police to help ensure the NT’s multicultural community feel safe.

Mr Potter says he will also speak to the Police Commissioner about allowing Territorians to carry pepper spray for self defense after calls to legalise it following the Sydney stabbings.
