More than 250 Territorians buy OC spray on the first day of the trial, with four people deemed not ineligible and one issued a notice to appear

Chief Minister Lia Finocchiaro says more than 250 Territorians, aged 47 on average, brought OC spray yesterday when a 12 month trial began, with four people deemed ineligible and one person issued a notice to appear by police.

The Chief wouldn’t get into Victims of Crime NT’s (VoCNT) signing onto an open letter condemning the OC spray trial with the board later saying it had not endorsed the comments by the CEO but Ms Finocchiaro told Katie Woolf, VoCNT are on the community reference group for the trial.

Ms Finocchiaro also said she has full confidence that the Australian Government Clean Energy Regulator and EPA will take whatever action is needed after revelations of a methane gas leak at Santos’ LNG facility in Darwin.
