Chief Minister Natasha Fyles says new alcohol restrictions in Alice Springs are a short term measure to restrict supply.

She told Katie Woolf it would allow police to focus on crime and anti-social behaviour.

Ms Fyles says a detailed alcohol management plan will be conducted with community consultation.
