NT Government needs to consider another way of reducing alcohol fuelled violence across the NT says NTPA
NT Police Association President Nathan Finn says it’s time to have a serious conversation on alcohol fuelled violence and bring in a licensing system when it comes to purchasing alcohol.
It comes after the Member for Lingiari Marion Scrymgour called on the NT Government to get tough on crime and implement alcohol restrictions in Darwin and Katherine.
Mr Finn says if you have any offences related to crime then you would get your license removed, and you can no longer purchase grog.
He also told Katie Woolf that he wants to see mandatory sentencing for people attacking members of the front line, after an officer was attacked by a group of people in a remote community last week and had to be flown to Royal Darwin Hospital.
