NT Police Association welcomes raft of law and order legislation on NT parliament agenda
NT Police Association President Nathan Finn has welcomed the legislation the CLP Government is hoping to pass in the first sittings of parliament, including new offences for ram raids and public drinking, Declan’s Law and lowering the age of criminal responsibility from 12 to 10.
He told Katie Woolf he has met with the Chief Minister on a number of occasions and has been consulted on the reforms including making it easier for police to conduct knife wanding.
Mr Finn says the government is also expected to announce details on minimum mandatory sentencing for assaults on police and frontline workers today.
