NT Police explain why it took four days to make an arrest after an alleged murder in Darwin City

Acting Assistant Commissioner Matt Hollamby says a 28-year-old man, charged with murder, drug and weapon offences is expected to face court today.

He is accused of stabbing a 36-year-old man in the stomach in Darwin City on Friday night with the victim dying the next morning.

In defending why it took four days to make an arrest, Assistant Commissioner Hollamby said there was a plan attached to the investigation and the target posed a low-risk to members of the public.
