NTG to watch how youth justice reforms go in NSW, with no action until bail review is complete

Chief Minister Eva Lawler says the NT Government will wait and see how youth justice reforms go in NSW and won’t be making any changes until its bail review is complete at the end of the year.

She told Katie Woolf the new Don Dale is expected to be open in July, with extra beds to be delivered at the Alice Springs prison around June.

Ms Lawler also says Territory Families will operate four residential youth justice facilities across the NT, giving courts more sentencing options for young offenders.
