NT Police Association President Nathan Finn says members welcome the end of Labor’s “hug and release” approach, with the CLP promising offenders will face consequences for crime.

He told Katie Woolf recruitment, retention, mental health support, fatigue management and assaults on police were among the key issues discussed at the Association’s annual conference last Friday.

Mr Finn says confirmation incoming Chief Minister Lia Finocchiaro will hold the Police portfolio is also a sign of respect for members.
