Opposition hopes NT budget will deliver investment in jobs and economic growth but expects it will be ‘underwhelming’ with ‘cuts’

Opposition Leader Selena Uibo acknowledges the NT hasn’t had an ideal fiscal outlook for many years but says the government can’t cut its way out of debt.
She told Katie Woolf Labor would like to see investment in jobs and projects that will grow the economy.
Asked about the Darwin Ship Lift, Ms Uibo says the initial $100 million cost was plucked out of the air by the former CLP Government with no realistic attempt to evaluate what the project should actually cost until Labor started doing the work.
