Opposition Leader Lia Finocchiaro has defended Member for Braitling Josh Burgoyne saying he fronted the media as soon as he had been charged over a car crash that injured two people in Alice Springs last year.

She told Katie Woolf the government is using the crash to create a distraction from Deputy Chief Minister Chansey Paech’s share scandal.

Ms Finocchiaro says Mr Burgoyne will still be able to do his job, representing his constituents while his matter is dealt with in court and won’t be standing down.
