Opposition Leader Lia Finocchiaro is calling on the government to do whatever it takes to keep Territory Day celebrations at Mindil Beach. 

Ms Finocchiaro believes people will still head to Mindil expecting fireworks on the night and then start letting off their own, posing new risks to the site.

She told Katie Woolf she’d ensure cracker night proceeds at Mindil if she was in power, guaranteeing that’s where it’ll be if the CLP is elected in August.
