Palmerston and Darwin’s rural areas are in for a shake up as the first proposal for the Redistribution of Electoral Boundaries is released
NT Electoral Commissioner Iain Loganathan says Palmerston divisions Berrimah and Northcrest are set to be moved to Fong Lim under the first proposal.
He told Katie Woolf that Darwin as a whole is approximately 2500 electors below quota, while Palmerston is approximately 1000 over quota and rural divisions 250 under quota.
Mr Loganathan says the boundary changes will not have an impact until the Territory election in August next year.
