Police Commissioner outlines plans to unite the force and community after racism allegations

Police Commissioner Michael Murphy says officers are yet to arrest two men and a woman who allegedly broke into a Darwin city home armed with a gun this morning but is reassuring the public they pose a low-risk.

Commissioner Murphy says he is focused on ensuring the police force is culturally appropriate and maintaining good relationships with the community following allegations of racism within the force.

He also told Katie Woolf he does not support relaxing alcohol restrictions in Alice Springs, saying the measures provide some respite for police and help in tackling the secondary supply of alcohol.
