Police Minister, aware of Police Commissioner’s intent to make apology at Garma Fest a week ago
Police Minister Brent Potter says he knew the Police Commissioner had planned to make an apology to Aboriginal people at the Garma Festival a week beforehand.
With many questioning the timing of the apology, Mr Potter told Katie Woolf the Commissioner doing it during caretaker mode removes the politics of it.
He also sheds light on how the Force will achieve 30 per cent Aboriginal representation across all police ranks especially when 270 extra officers are needed now.
