Police Minister takes aim at courts for granting youth bail saying they should be remanded or sent to bush camps

Police Minister Brent Potter has defended his shareholdings in Seafarms saying he declared them at the time and had no inside knowledge about its major prawn farm project, which has since been deemed unviable.

After a string of serious incidents allegedly committed by youth on bail, he told Katie Woolf the legislation is in place for judges to remand offenders or send them to bush camps.

Mr Potter also says there are enough PALIs, licensing inspectors and Constables to man bottle shops in Alice Springs, Tennant Creek and Katherine while a fast-tracked 16-week training course is underway to upskill auxiliaries.
