Chief Minister Natasha Fyles and Attorney General Chansey Peach yesterday called a press conference to announce urgent bail legislation will be introduced to parliament this morning, which will see a new presumption against bail for violent offences involving a weapon. 

It is hoped the changes will pass through parliament today and be able to be implemented immediately.
