Questions raised about why the Chief Minister’s trip to the US is costing taxpayers $93,000
Opposition Leader Lia Finocchiaro is questioning why it is costing the Chief Minister and two staffers $93,000 for a 9 day trip to the United States.
Natasha Fyles is meeting with key US government officials to strengthen Defence ties and spruik the Territory’s critical minerals and emergency response capabilities.
While acknowledging the talks are important, Ms Finocchiaro says the government needs to be transparent about why it is costing so much, especially when crime is out of control and the health system is under strain.
Ms Finocchiaro told Katie Woolf the CLP would consider making their travel costs public before going on trips if they were in government.
