Senator Malarndirri McCarthy says she tried her best to defend the NT and correct false claims sprayed by Senator Lidia Thorpe during an estimates hearing.

During the fiery exchange Senator Lidia Thorpe said she was disgusted that NT police received $14 million for high visibility patrols when youth services are struggling.

But Ms McCarthy told Katie Woolf, Ms Thorpe has no idea about the issues and work that’s underway in the Territory.
