Member for Araluen Robyn Lambley has welcomed the extension of the youth curfew in Alice Spring until April 16 but says it should have been in place for the whole town.

She told Katie Woolf extra police from South Australia have arrived but need to be sworn in before hitting the beat.

Ms Lambley says a strong police presence needs to remain in place as well as PALIs on bottle shops.
