There may not be enough teachers in NT classrooms next year according to the AEU

Australian Education Union NT Branch President Michelle Ayres says teachers will walk off the job tomorrow, demanding a competitive pay rise.

She says the two per cent increase being offered by the NT Government will force Territory teachers to move interstate where the pay is better.

Ms Ayres told Katie Woolf the union is meeting with the Commissioner of Public Employment today to continue negotiations.
