An alleged unlicensed drunk driver has been arrested in Darwin overnight.
NT Police were directing traffic at a crash on the intersection of Tiger Brennan Drive and Woolner Road in Bayview at 10.53pm Tuesday when a 45-year-old man allegedly drove over traffic cones that had been set up to direct motorists before coming to a stop.
The man was breath tested at the scene, allegedly returning a reading of of 0.306% blood alcohol concentration.
He was arrested and taken to the Palmerston Watch House, and his female passenger, who was heavily intoxicated, was taken into protective custody.
The man has been charged with driving unlicensed and driving with a high range alcohol content.
