A prisoner remains on the run after escaping from Corrections custody in Darwin overnight.

26-year-old Isaac Thompson allegedly fled custody at around 8.15pm Sunday while he was being escorted from an ambulance into the Emergency Department at Royal Darwin Hospital.

Police say the man – a known associate of the Mongols Outlaw Motorcycle Gang – was handcuffed and only wearing a pair of shorts and socks at the time, and he was last seen running along Rocklands Road.

Sergeant Kenneth Bradshaw is urging the man to hand himself in.

“We’re asking members of the public not to approach him. If you see him, call Triple Zero immediately.”
