A group of teenagers have allegedly broken into and trashed a popular Palmerston sports facility on the weekend.
NT Police responded to reports of the grandstand and caretaker’s facility at Gray Oval being broken into at around 2:45am Sunday.
Gray Oval is the home of the Palmerston Rovers Football Club, and is used by players, families, and supporters all year round.
The alleged offenders are accused of using star pickets and a hammer to smash the security door, timber door, windows, and a CCTV monitor at the facility, before forcing into the drinks fridge and stealing alcohol.
Officers received information on the location of the alleged offenders later that morning, and attended an address to arrest two 17-year-old boys and an 18-year-old man.
A wheelie bin allegedly stolen from the oval and containing empty alcohol containers was seized.
A 20-year-old man was also arrested at the address in relation to unrelated outstanding matters.
Charges are expected to be laid and NT Police are continuing investigations.
