A man is in a critical condition after being hit by a car in Darwin’s rural area.
Police received reports at 4.11am Tuesday from a man travelling to work who believed he had struck an object on Chibnall Road, Acacia.
The man turned his car around to investigate, where he found an unconscious man.

The driver stopped and co-operated with police, testing negative for drugs and alcohol, and the pedestrian has been taken to Royal Darwin Hospital.
A crime scene has been established and Chibnall Road, between Leonino Road and Old Bynoe Road, is closed to drivers.
