A man has been transferred to hospital in Darwin after an aggravated assault in a Groote Eylandt community.
Police were called to Angurugu at around 11.30 on Sunday night (September 28), following reports a man had been struck with an edged weapon.
The alleged offender is reportedly known to the victim and fled the scene after the attack.

The victim received a laceration to his head and has since been taken to Darwin for further treatment.
