Skeletal remains have been discovered near Katherine.
A member of the public found a human skull about 15km from the town yesterday afternoon.
Police established a crime scene with investigations ongoing.
The grim discovery comes a week after several bones including a skull were found by a bushwalker near Lee Point beach.
Police are asking anyone with information about either of the deaths to contact 131 444.
