From the slopes to the stage, Jindabyne’s Kesha Neve is trading away her ski’s for a microphone.
Kesha Neve just triumphed in one of Australia’s most iconic programs and has become the Australian Idol of 2026 at last nights grand finale. Kesha battled it out against Harlan Goode, an 18-year old from Queensland.
The winning song that Kesha performed was a larger version of her original audition song, Die With A Smile by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars. Amy Shark praised Kesha and even went so far to say that Kesha was the “most talented, coolest chick I’ve seen on Idol so far”. But like previous seasons of the series, the decider for who is Australia’s Idol is left to the viewers. Kesha in the end won the most votes from and was awarded $100,000 and an exclusive recording deal with Hive Sound Stage. This is the first time a female has one Australian Idol in 19-years, with the last winner being Natalie Gauci in 2007.
“I’m so lucky for this opportunity. I never thought it would be me,… You always envision it, but you never actually think it’s going to happen, so I just feel like the luckiest person on Earth… It means so much to me, my friends and family. I hope I can repay them with my music and shows,… I just want to get into the studio. I want to get into writing songs. I want to be playing shows. I want to be on the road or on a flight to my next gig,…” Kesha Neve after her victory.
