It’s that time of year again, Super Bowl Sunday is here!

In the United States this weekend the Super Bowl will finally be held yet again. With another Super Bowl comes a whole slew of amazing performances, commercials, commentary and an actual game will be played as well. Whilst this year’s Super Bowl has been shrouded by significant political commentary, there is still plenty to look forward to. Here is everything you need to know regarding there performances, rumoured/confirmed trailers and when and where to watch the game.

Yeah I can do that! Our playing teams are the Seattle Seahawks and (disappointingly) The New England Patriots. This year the Super Bowl will take place at 3:30pm on the 8th of February, local time in Santa Clara’s, Levi Stadium in California. The time difference will vary greatly for us down here in Australia. Firstly, for us the Super Bowl will actually be played in Australia on Monday the 9th of February, so thankfully a Monday might actually be a fun day this week. You can catch the times below.

  • 7:30am AWST: Western Australia
  • 9:00am ACST: Northern Territory
  • 9:30am AEST: Queensland
  • 10am ACDT: South Australia
  • 10:30am AEDT: New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Victoria and Tasmania

You can watch the game on free-to-air TV on Channel 7 or on its streaming service 7plus. Alternatively you can also stream it on Kayo, Disney+, and Foxtel’s ESPN.

The last time these two teams played against each other in a Super Bowl was back in 2015 where the Patriots claimed victory with 28-24. If this is your first Super Bowl and you’re looking for a team to pick allow me to sway your decision. Whilst I am totally not biased at all against the Patriots (yuck), the Seattle Seahawks has an Australian punter playing on their side, Michael Dickson. If the Seahawks win, then Dickson will become the second Australian ever to win a Super Bowl. So, unbiasedly, if you want to somehow support Australia then you should go for the Seahawks. That said, screw the Patriots let’s go Vikings! er, I mean Seahawks!

Tell me about the performances!

We have some amazing musical performances happening this year, from some of the biggest and best acts currently playing in the world, as well as some veteran acts that still know how to rock a stage. As many know, the half-time musical show is one of the biggest parts of the day. This year, the NFL announced that American and Puerto Rican musician Bad Bunny would be performing this year’s half-time show. Bad Bunny is currently one of the most successful artists currently active. His album Un Verano Sin Ti (2022) became the most-streamed album on Spotify of all time, and it still is to this day! Plus, in the Grammy’s that took place earlier this week Bad Bunny was awarded Album of the Year for their album Debi Tirar Was.

Before the show this year we are also getting several other musicians stepping in. Punk rock band Green Day has been booked to perform the opening ceremony. Charlie Pluth is set to sing the national anthem before the game, and Brandi Charlie will also perform a rendition of American the Beautiful.

Tell me about them trailers already!

These are just the ones on the list that are currently rumoured to be getting a spot, so try to conceal your disappointment when some may not air. You might be noticing that two of the biggest movies of the year aren’t included; Avengers: Doomsday and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Buzz has been going around in the Marvel offices that they have deliberately opted to not release anything with both films releasing in the back half of 2026. But in the end, it doesn’t matter, Project Hail Mary is confirmed for a trailer and that’s all I’m going to need. The Super Bowl this year is sure to amaze, amaze, amaze.
