I mean is anyone really shocked?
We all expected it to happen and it finally has, GTA 6 has been delayed until May of 2026. But don’t stress, 2025 still has plenty of new titles on the horizon to keep you busy until this time next year. Here’s a list of some of the biggest and most high anticipated releases coming still in 2025.
Doom: The Dark Ages – May 15th
See, it’s okay we don’t even have to wait long for our next epic title. Doom returns and is taking us to the dark ages for another dive into this heavy-metal action packed adventure!
Elden Ring: Nightreign – May 30th
Jump back into the world of Elden Ring with this new standalone rogue-like adventure.
Mariokart World – June 5th
With the switch 2 dropping next month comes a whole new Mariokart, and this Mariokart is going open world!
Dune: Awakening – June 10th
Based on the book world by Frank Herbert, Dune: Awakening is a survival game dropped in the heart of Arrakis.
Death Stranding 2: On The Beach – June 26th
Hideo Kojima returns with a sequel to 2019’s Death Stranding as we follow the next chapter on Sam’s mission to save humanity.
Borderlands 4 – September 12th
Borderlands returns later this year for its fourth mainline title!
Ghost of Yotei – October 2nd
Suckerpunch also returns this year with its second instalment in the Ghost series. Set several hundred years after Jinn Sakai’s story concluded.
Dying Light: The Beast – TBD
Kyle Crane from the first Dying Light game returns to the Dying Light universe in Dying Light: The Beast.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A – TBD
Another Pokemon Legends title arrives later this year with Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Which takes the franchise back to Lumiose city.
Subnautica 2 (Early Access) – TBD
After the huge success of its first game and a quick spin-off title. Unknown Worlds gives us a new Subnautica title set on a different world than the 4546B we’ve called home in previous titles. Here come the giant scary fish. Though it needs to be said the finished product isn’t realeasing this year, just early access.
