The new Netflix home screen is getting a sleek, modern facelift. Gone is the left-hand menu-now, navigation moves to a prominent bar across the top of the screen, featuring tabs for Home, Shows, Movies, Games, and the all-new “My Netflix” section. This update is designed to reduce visual clutter and put the most important features front and center, making it easier to find what you want to watch

Information Front and Center

One of the most noticeable changes is how Netflix presents content. Instead of endless rows of titles, the new interface highlights fewer choices but gives you more information about each one. Expect to see callouts like “Emmy Award Winner” or “#1 in TV Shows,” along with concise synopses and relevant details, helping you make faster, more informed viewing decisions

Enhanced Accessibility and Shortcuts

Previously, shortcuts like Search and My List were tucked away on the side. Now, these features are more accessible at the top of the screen, making it easier to jump to your saved titles, reminders, or continue watching section

Expanding Beyond TV and Film

The new design reflects Netflix’s ambitions beyond traditional streaming. The top menu will now highlight live events and gaming offerings, especially for users who have shown interest in these areas. This shift underscores Netflix’s push into interactive entertainment and live broadcasts, such as sports and reality competitions

Mobile Innovations: AI Search and Vertical Video

Netflix isn’t stopping at the TV experience. The mobile app is also getting an overhaul, with two standout features in testing:

AI-Powered Search: Leveraging OpenAI technology, users can search with natural language requests like “I want something funny and upbeat.” This feature is currently in beta on iOS devices.

Vertical Video Feed: Inspired by platforms like TikTok, Netflix will introduce a vertical feed of short clips from movies and TV shows. Users can browse, tap to watch, save, or share, making content discovery more dynamic and social-media friendly

Why This Matters

This is Netflix’s most significant interface update since 2013, reflecting how streaming habits and expectations have evolved. By focusing on simplicity, personalization, and accessibility, Netflix hopes to keep its vast user base engaged and make it easier for everyone to find their next favourite show, movie, or game

When Will You See the Changes?

The new home screen and features will begin rolling out globally in the coming weeks and months. Not all users will see the updates immediately, as Netflix is conducting phased tests to refine the experience based on feedback
